Damaged Pipe Dispute
The problem
A client couldn’t start building because a demolition contractor damaged a sewer line. They were stuck: no building approval until it was fixed, no clear advice on how to proceed, and their builder threatening delays.
What we did
We stepped in, assessed the damage, advised on dispute resolution, designed the rectification, and worked directly with council to get approvals sorted. Then we supervised the repair to make sure it was done right.
The outcome
Approval granted, delay avoided, and the client moved ahead with confidence.
Sewer Works in Congested Services
The problem
A contractor was faced with a non-compliant design, service clashes underground, and tight staging requirements. To make it worse, a cyclone event hit mid- works, putting the project at risk.
What we did
We advised on design changes, developed a practical staging plan, and designed a custom sewer bypass to keep works going. When the cyclone hit, we helped the team manage the emergency response.
The outcome
The works stayed on track despite the setbacks, and the contractor avoided major delays and cost blowouts.
Remote Haul Road Feasibility
The problem
A mine operator needed a 26 km haul road to move coal but had no in-house capability to assess the options or costs.
What we did
We analysed transport alternatives, produced a high-level design, and prepared a Class 5 cost estimate that could be used in planning and procurement.
The outcome
The client gained the clarity to move to the next phase of project planning, with realistic costs and a clear strategy.
